Firstly, it is NOT a flash animation. Only the loading bar thingy was done in flash and i DONT KNOW anything about flash AT ALL. so i spent like 5 hours in coding the loading bar. Please be patient while the animation loads.
Secondly, please read the following backstory to help you understand what this is about:
In my alternate universe, Hulk is a goofy guy whose strength and anger is his only plus point. And Toph is, well, Toph. She's badass as ever. Now they meet and Hulk provokes her. See what happens! xD
Inspired by the famous Avengers scene where Hulk gets it out on Thor, i spent like three days in making this. This was made frame by frame in Photoshop CS5 and animated in Photoshop CS5. Flash was used for the preloader.
The asterix on the title means that it is an experiment, and is the first fully animated GIF i made. EVER. The inuyasha one doesnt count as FULLY ANIMATED.
The two mysteries involving the scene, before you ask me, let me tell you:
>>>TOPH IS STANDING ON A RAISED ROCKY PLATFORM. Yeah, that;s why she's the height of Hulk. >>>WHY DOESNT TOPH USE EARTHBENDING? Cause she's badass.
I hope you read all that, and I hope you like this piece. I made a LOT of effort into working on it and PLEASE oh PLEASE dont redistribute it ANYWHERE!!!
i really liked it, it had hulk who is awesome and toph who is even more awesome. i didn't know she was blind though. like others have said it could be smoother, but it's still friggin' awesome. the action lines were well placed and her hair flowed nicely so you must have spent a really long time on it. especially the loading bar as i am told. hulk is, well hulk he's green he's muscular, that's about it. i though it was funny too, mainly because hulk got punched out of the screen by a B.A. blind girl (who hates blind jokes). i think you should do more stuff like this.
A wonderful piece of work! The limited animation works really well. It's a nice, simple cartoon style. (look how well South Park has done, and that's even simpler). I like the way the hulks head snaps to the side, holds, then snaps back. It's good, and it communicates well. You've used a couple of nice holds in the piece, and you build good anticipation. I like the way that the girl brings her arm up just slightly, and you see the hulk frown, and you can anticipate what's going to happen next. That's a great example of anticipation in animation!
Small details I like - I love the speed lines when the girl punches, the characters blinking, the hulk picking his nose, and the girls hair flowing around - they are all nice extra touches that give it real finish.
The lip syncing is almost right. Your mouth frames are drawn well, but there are too many (my first lip sync was much worse). It is tempting to enunciate every syllable, but in actual fact if you watch people talking or look at yourself in the mirror, you can see that our lips don't move as much as we think. Generally lip syncing reads better when there is less movement. Also, you're probably aware, but the lines go a bit thick then thin, and that detracted a little.
Except for the thick and thin in the lines, I actually really like the simple drawing style and limited animation. This is really good! I look forward to seeing more from you and hope that you are only encouraged by this, as my overall impression is that of being impressed.
