Description
dedicated to *B-AGT - the reason I started semi realistic shading.
Drawn entirely with a single 2H pencil, and many many times sharpening the same. xD Also tortillions and eraser (in pic)
This look was inspired from a photograph in some fashion magazine, and I instantly picturized my favorite Naruto character in that look. Hope you like it too! It was real fun to draw! m/
Scanning ruined the shading, so I took a photo instead.
This is an entry for 's contest "COSTUME REDESIGN"! Fingers crossed xD

Izanagi, you have pulled off another traditional art fantastically.
Let me just dive on in and tell you that the amount of detail you put onto her clothes speaks for itself. Although the dress may be simple, the creases you put in it really highlight her figure and show a different side to Hinata. I love the texture of her hat absolutely. I feel that if I were to touch it, I could feel all of the fibers against my fingers, and the fact that you could do that just by shading is beyond me.
I've seen people put Hinata in more..."provocative" clothes before, but yours is more of a..."classy, yet provocative" look, I guess like Robin from One Piece? Anyway, that's why I say that this piece is very original. I would even go so far as to say that she looks somewhat French and exotic.
On to the technique aspect, the angle you put her at creates a certain chic and interesting effect yest looking at it. She looks just like a model, even her pose and facial expression. On that note, I love the way the simplistic shading is on her eyes and on her lips. Is a small luminescence that highlights her face. The way you did her hair is a completely different matter. I can honestly say that her hair is the defining feature to this piece. Every flip and curl, single stroke, individual hair is apparent and only adds to the piece in a beautiful way. It's free and wild, yet somehow put together, almost like a paradox. I just want to zoom in even more and see the little pencil strokes even more fine than now.
And I guess that's the only flaw. It's so beautifully made, but the distance from the piece is a little too far. I'd like to zoom in even more than DA will let me and see the amount of detail and effort you put into this even more. You can still see everything and see the fine details, but I just wish I could go in even more!
This piece really had a major effect on me. Very little pieces have an attitude or personality with them, especially when it comes to anime drawings. The thumb on her lip, the stance, everything just has a personality to it. I can honestly say that this is one of the masterpieces in the Hinata fan-art archive her at Deviantart and many people should look towards this drawing as a great example as to what can be achieved with mere pencils.
Wonderful job Izanagi. Another masterpiece.
