EDIT2: OMG WTH ASJHJKAS::LK! Thanks for all the favs and comments xDD I cannot, for the life of me, reply to each fav, so here is me, shamelessly thanking you for the favs! xD Because I can. XP
This 3D sketch is dedicated to all YOU lovely people who +fav, +watch and support artists like me.
I have grown as an artist because of YOU! That said, I hope all you deviants enjoy this,
Edward Elric IN 3D!!!
The roughs and pre-planning alone TOOK ME LIKE A FULL DAY!! Dx Other than that, it was fun working with this kind of art..... I havent seen any manga/anime 3D traditional
art drawings yet... so i thought that it was the perfect gift for you awesome people you xDDDDDDDD
Imagine my surprise when I found out that this drawing is in 3D. My jaw almost literally dropped but I didn't I need to control and compose myself. If not , how would I be able to critique this amazing art. It looks like a pop -up drawing if you don't look closely enough (Well, you could if you have a poor eyesight..like me! but thanks to my glasses I can manage myself) Anyways, You are one of those people who can flip an art and make another art to art itself that is why I salute you for that. You definitely did a good job! Two thumbs up for you.
I gotta admit, when I first saw this, I was like "Holy Guacamole, this is one cool papercraft!" But upon further examination, I realized that it was not a papercraft, but an actual drawing, whereupon my jaw promptly made solid contact with the floor. While fanart of Edward Elric is not exactly original, the method through which you portrayed him certainly is. It takes skill to make a 2-dimensional drawing pop up the way you did. The knowledge of foreshortening, shading, and perspective to pull something like this off (and that's just the preliminary knowledge, not the actual time put into making the artwork) is staggering. As you yourself said, it took you over a day for the test sketches and planning- and who knows how long to actually execute the drawing. The only controversy left is how many copycats will pop up.
